Christie Shinn

Christie’s first painting lessons came from her grandmother, who taught her the discipline and joy of making marks on a canvas. As a young adult, she spent years travelling far from her native Canada in search of surf, snow, and artistic inspiration. During her travels, she documented her surroundings and experiences through her work, striving to better observe and describe the world around her. When she reached Hawaii, the most colourful and vibrant place she had ever seen, she knew she’d found her home. 15 years later, Christie can be found at her art studio on the beautiful North Shore of Oahu, capturing the everyday beauty of island life with her signature graphic brushwork and bright palette. Christie’s art was featured in the 2013 Triple Crown of Surfing event branding and poster.
